O Parque Nacional dos Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses foi aprovado como Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Natural pela Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas para a Educa\u00e7\u00e3o, a Ci\u00eancia e a Cultura (Unesco). A decis\u00e3o foi anunciada nesta sexta-feira (26) durante a 46\u00aa sess\u00e3o do Comit\u00ea do Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial da Unesco, que est\u00e1 reunido na cidade de Nova Deli, na \u00cdndia, desde o dia 21 deste m\u00eas. Com a decis\u00e3o, o destino maranhense passa a figurar como de grande relev\u00e2ncia para gera\u00e7\u00f5es do mundo inteiro.

Com a aprova\u00e7\u00e3o do t\u00edtulo para os Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses, o Brasil passa a contar com nove localidades reconhecidas como Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Natural pela Unesco: Parque Nacional do Igua\u00e7u (PR), Vale do Ribeira (PR\/SP), Costa do Descobrimento (BA\/ES), Amaz\u00f4nia Central (AM), Pantanal (MT\/MS), complexo Ilhas Atl\u00e2nticas (Fernando de Noronha e Atol das Rocas), complexo Chapada dos Veadeiros\/Parque das Emas (GO) e o Parque Nacional dos Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses (MA).

A aprova\u00e7\u00e3o do destino maranhense foi comemorada pelo governo estadual, que enviou uma comitiva para acompanhar todo o processo ao longo dos \u00faltimos dias. O governador do Maranh\u00e3o, Carlos Brand\u00e3o, que lidera a comitiva, afirmou que o t\u00edtulo amplifica a import\u00e2ncia e a visibilidade dos Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses para o mundo.

\u201cPara a gente \u00e9 motivo de muito orgulho estarmos aqui, em Nova Deli. Agora os Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses s\u00e3o Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial da Humanidade. Essa \u00e9 uma grande conquista para o Maranh\u00e3o. Sem d\u00favida este reconhecimento fortalecer\u00e1 o turismo e a preserva\u00e7\u00e3o deste tesouro natural maranhense, que gera emprego e renda no nosso estado. E, claro, aumenta nossa responsabilidade e compromisso com esta riqueza natural \u00fanica\u201d, assinalou o governador Carlos Brand\u00e3o.

Kenneth F\u00e9lix Haczynski da N\u00f3brega, embaixador do Brasil para a \u00cdndia e But\u00e3o, afirmou que a inclus\u00e3o dos Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses na lista de Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Natural da Unesco \u00e9 um claro reconhecimento do compromisso dos governos do Brasil e do Maranh\u00e3o com a preserva\u00e7\u00e3o do meio ambiente.

\u201cEste t\u00edtulo refor\u00e7a todas as pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas de preserva\u00e7\u00e3o de nossas riquezas naturais, al\u00e9m do nosso compromisso com as comunidades locais, que vivem nessas regi\u00f5es. E faz tamb\u00e9m com que a gente volte nossos olhos para o futuro, sobretudo das pr\u00f3ximas gera\u00e7\u00f5es. A partir de agora vamos trabalhar mais fortemente para colocar os Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses cada vez mais no mapa do turismo do cidad\u00e3o indiano e de todos os pa\u00edses do mundo\u201d, afirmou Kenneth F\u00e9lix Haczynski da N\u00f3brega.

Os secret\u00e1rios estaduais Pedro Chagas (Meio Ambiente e Recursos Naturais) e Socorro Ara\u00fajo (Turismo) tamb\u00e9m integram a comitiva maranhense em Nova Deli. Eles receberam a not\u00edcia com muita alegria e ressaltaram a import\u00e2ncia tanto para a economia quanto para a preserva\u00e7\u00e3o da localidade.

Para a secret\u00e1ria de Turismo, Socorro Ara\u00fajo, os olhos do mundo voltados para o estado representam um compromisso maior com a preserva\u00e7\u00e3o do destino maranhense e tamb\u00e9m uma propuls\u00e3o maior para o turismo.

\u201cEsse t\u00edtulo de Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Natural \u00e9 mais um grande est\u00edmulo para todos n\u00f3s e fortalece todas as pol\u00edticas e investimentos do Governo do Maranh\u00e3o na promo\u00e7\u00e3o dos Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses como destino tur\u00edstico. E gera um compromisso maior de toda a cadeia produtiva do turismo de sustentabilidade e responsabilidade social. Tamb\u00e9m gera novas oportunidades de investimentos, gera\u00e7\u00e3o de emprego, renda e maior visibilidade para todos os nossos polos tur\u00edsticos naturais\u201d, disse Socorro Ara\u00fajo.

J\u00e1 o secret\u00e1rio de Meio Ambiente e Recursos Naturais, Pedro Chagas, ressaltou que esse t\u00edtulo faz com que Barreirinhas, que \u00e9 a porta de entrada do Parque Nacional, seja conhecida no resto do mundo mais do que j\u00e1 \u00e9.

\u201cHoje todo o mundo reconhece os Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses como Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Natural. Na pr\u00e1tica isso significa levar os Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses para todos os cantos do mundo. E coloca sobre n\u00f3s um empenho ainda maior na preserva\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o apenas da regi\u00e3o, mas de todos os nossos biomas, bacias hidrogr\u00e1ficas, fauna e flora. Ent\u00e3o, \u00e9 um dia hist\u00f3rico para o Maranh\u00e3o\u201d, frisou Pedro Chagas.

Candidatura a Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Natural

A documenta\u00e7\u00e3o para a candidatura do Parque Nacional dos Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses foi conclu\u00edda em 2018, mas o processo foi interrompido na gest\u00e3o anterior do governo federal.

A candidatura do parque tem sido estudada desde agosto de 2023, quando avaliadores da Uni\u00e3o Internacional para a Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Natureza (IUCN), contratados pela Unesco, visitaram o Maranh\u00e3o para uma avalia\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9cnica.

Durante a visita, os avaliadores, acompanhados por representantes do Minist\u00e9rio do Meio Ambiente (MMA), Instituto Chico Mendes de Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o Ambiental (ICMBio) e Governo do Estado, examinaram aspectos como: beleza natural e aspectos geomorfol\u00f3gicos do s\u00edtio; integridade do s\u00edtio, incluindo limites e prote\u00e7\u00e3o da \u00e1rea; situa\u00e7\u00e3o do plano de manejo, que inclui a situa\u00e7\u00e3o dos moradores nativos e a\u00e7\u00f5es de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o; e atua\u00e7\u00e3o dos prestadores de servi\u00e7os tur\u00edsticos.

Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Cultural e Natural

O t\u00edtulo de Patrim\u00f4nio Mundial Cultural e Natural concedido pela Unesco busca incentivar a preserva\u00e7\u00e3o de bens culturais e naturais considerados significativos para a humanidade, que passam a ser reconhecidos como patrim\u00f4nio de todos os povos.

A categoria Patrim\u00f4nio Natural compreende forma\u00e7\u00f5es f\u00edsicas, biol\u00f3gicas e geol\u00f3gicas excepcionais, habitats de esp\u00e9cies animais e vegetais amea\u00e7adas, al\u00e9m de \u00e1reas com valor cient\u00edfico, de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o ou est\u00e9tico excepcional e universal.

Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses

O Parque Nacional dos Len\u00e7\u00f3is Maranhenses \u00e9 um para\u00edso ecol\u00f3gico com 155 mil hectares de dunas, rios, lagoas e manguezais. Raro fen\u00f4meno geol\u00f3gico, foi formado ao longo de milhares de anos atrav\u00e9s da a\u00e7\u00e3o da natureza.

Suas paisagens s\u00e3o deslumbrantes, com imensid\u00f5es de areias que fazem o lugar assemelhar-se a um deserto, mas as \u00e1guas pluviais formam lagoas que se espalham em praticamente toda a \u00e1rea do parque formando uma paisagem inigual\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
