Em menos de um m\u00eas, duas gestantes perderam a vida durante o parto, um cen\u00e1rio alarmante para uma unidade que foi refer\u00eancia no combate \u00e0 mortalidade materna na regi\u00e3o Sul do Maranh\u00e3o.&nbsp; <br><br>Durante seu discurso na Assembleia Legislativa, o parlamentar relembrou os avan\u00e7os obtidos na \u00e1rea da sa\u00fade materna quando esteve \u00e0 frente da Secretaria de Estado da Sa\u00fade (SES). &#8220;O Hospital Regional de Balsas foi um divisor de \u00e1guas. Durante anos, mulheres precisavam se deslocar at\u00e9 Imperatriz para ter seus beb\u00eas, aumentando os riscos de complica\u00e7\u00f5es. Conseguimos reverter essa situa\u00e7\u00e3o e, em determinado per\u00edodo, passamos mais de um ano sem registrar uma \u00fanica morte materna nas nove cidades da regi\u00e3o. O Maranh\u00e3o, inclusive, recebeu um pr\u00eamio da Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Pan-Americana da Sa\u00fade (OPAS) por esse avan\u00e7o&#8221;, destacou.&nbsp; <br><br>Carlos Lula defendeu uma apura\u00e7\u00e3o imediata das causas dessas mortes para evitar novas perdas irrepar\u00e1veis. \u201cO que aconteceu para que um hospital que salvava vidas agora registre essas trag\u00e9dias? Foi mudan\u00e7a na equipe m\u00e9dica? No protocolo de atendimento? No plano de trabalho? Precisamos de respostas e provid\u00eancias urgentes para garantir que essas m\u00e3es voltem para casa com seus filhos nos bra\u00e7os&#8221;, afirmou.&nbsp; <br><br>Al\u00e9m da cobran\u00e7a por investiga\u00e7\u00f5es, o parlamentar tamb\u00e9m prestou solidariedade \u00e0s fam\u00edlias enlutadas e alertou para as consequ\u00eancias sociais da mortalidade materna. &#8220;A morte de uma m\u00e3e desestrutura uma fam\u00edlia inteira. Estudos mostram que nada impacta mais um lar do que a perda materna, principalmente quando falamos de mulheres jovens, muitas delas m\u00e3es solo. Isso precisa ser combatido com veem\u00eancia. O sil\u00eancio n\u00e3o pode ser a resposta.
