O sargento da Pol\u00edcia Militar do Maranh\u00e3o (PM-MA), Romildo Leobino, baleado no pesco\u00e7o durante uma opera\u00e7\u00e3o contra o tr\u00e1fico de drogas no munic\u00edpio de Bom Jardim, iniciou um tratamento experimental com Polilaminina em S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds e j\u00e1 apresenta sinais iniciais de evolu\u00e7\u00e3o cl\u00ednica.
O policial foi atingido no dia 16 de janeiro de 2026, durante a a\u00e7\u00e3o. Dois suspeitos morreram ap\u00f3s troca de tiros com a equipe da PM. Ele chegou a ser socorrido em um hospital de Bom Jardim, mas, devido \u00e0 gravidade do ferimento, precisou ser transferido de helic\u00f3ptero para a capital maranhense, onde segue internado.
Menos de uma semana ap\u00f3s receber a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o da Polilaminina \u2014 28 dias depois do trauma \u2014 o sargento apresentou avan\u00e7os considerados relevantes pela equipe m\u00e9dica. Entre os sinais observados est\u00e3o melhora respirat\u00f3ria, ganho de for\u00e7a muscular e maior controle de tronco, al\u00e9m de movimentos musculares iniciais.
Em v\u00eddeo divulgado nesta semana, Leobino agradeceu aos profissionais envolvidos no tratamento e destacou o papel da ci\u00eancia em sua recupera\u00e7\u00e3o. \u201cSou muito grato aos cientistas e m\u00e9dicos que est\u00e3o se dedicando para salvar e transformar vidas\u201d, afirmou.
A m\u00e9dica Dra. Tatiana Sampaio, respons\u00e1vel pela condu\u00e7\u00e3o da pesquisa, ressaltou que os resultados s\u00e3o fruto de um trabalho coletivo que envolve equipe m\u00e9dica, profissionais multiprofissionais, pesquisadores e apoio institucional.
